The G Force Lighted Nock is an ingenious piece of equipment. The change in the force that occurs when the arrow leaves the bow, which is known as the G force, is detected by an accelerometer and is the one responsible for activating the lighted nock. Thus, when the arrow is shot, the G Force Lighted Nock lights up. This is very beneficial when hunting in low light conditions.
The G Force Lighted Nock can be installed easily. All you have to do is insert the nock onto the end of the arrow, and it is ready for use. No switches or magnets are needed for the lighted nock to work. The G Force Lighted nock is waterproof, with the electronic components of lighted nock, such as the microprocessor, kept safe from the various environmental elements that can harm them. The light used in the lighted nocks is an L.E.D. light that is colored blue.
The batteries for the G Force Lighted Nock are attached at the end of the nock. These batteries are replaceable, and can run for more than 20 hours.
There are two kinds of G Force Lighted Nocks being sold in the market: the .204 and the .244/.246. Some arrows are more compatible with one model than the other; the list of arrows and the corresponding G Force Lighted Nock can be seen on the website of G5 Outdoors. There are several differences between the two models of lighted nocks.
The .204 G Force Lighted Nock weighs 24 grains. The primary difference between the two nocks is that the .204 stays lit until the archer chooses to deactivate the arrow. Deactivation is also different. In order to turn off the light of the .204 G Force Lighted Nock, you must position the arrow perfectly straight, and tap it on a table or other such hard surface one time. The .204 lighted nock is best used on specific Beman, Carbon Express, Easton and Trophy Ridge arrows.
On the other hand, the .244/.246 G Force Lighted Nock weighs 38 grains. As opposed to the .204, the .244/.246 does not stay lit the entire time; instead, the nock starts to blink after 6 seconds of the shot. In order to close the light of the .244/.246 G Force Lighted Nock, you have to tap the nock on a hard surface for 3 consecutive times. The .244/.246 lighted nock can be used on most arrows, including Bass Pro, Beman, Cabelas, Carbon Express, Carbon Tech, Gold Tip, PSE, Vapor and Victory.
The G Force Lighted Nock is priced anywhere from $18 to $50, as it comes in either a single pack or a 3 pack. The replacement batteries for the G Force Lighted Nock costs $15.
